A man was shot multiple times and killed in a parked car about 1 a.m. Wednesday in South Seattle.
According to police, 911 operators received multiple calls from residents in the area about shots being fired.
When police arrived at the scene they discovered the man in his car had multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Seattle Fire tried to revive the man, but he died at the scene.
People in the area told police the man lived out of his car and was likely asleep when he was shot. Police say they have no information on a suspect or what triggered the shooting.
“At this point we don’t know exactly what preceded the shooting and we don’t have any suspect information,” says Renee Witt with the Seattle Police Department. ”
Witt does say the area was the scene of a recent shooting of a well-known gang member. “We don’t know if this was related at all, but detectives are looking into all possibilities at this point.”
Authorities are also asking for the public’s assistance.
“If anyone knows anything about this, they’re asked to call 911,” says Witt.
