Lane closures on Aurora Avenue could impact travel times in Seattle this weekend.
Northbound lanes of Aurora between the south end of the Battery Street Tunnel and Valley Street will be closed 9 p.m. Friday through 5 p.m. Saturday, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Southbound lanes will be closed 9 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday, when one lane reopens; one will remain closed until 1 p.m.
During the closures, contractor crews will begin building the permanent median between northbound and southbound lanes along the new section of Aurora that opened in August.
Crews hope to finish up before basketball fans drive down to Key Arena for the Gonzaga/Tennessee game on Saturday.
In addition to those closures, crews installing a message sign may close on southbound lane of Aurora between Roy and Mercer streets from 8 p.m.to 6 a.m. through Dec. 22.
