Drivers were delayed for a few hours in the waterfront area on SR 104 as the train blocked access to the Edmonds station. Access to the waterfront was reopened at both Dayton Street and Main Street around 2:30 p.m.
The Edmonds Police Department said investigators are working to determine what led to a 43-year-old male from Wichita, Kansas being struck by a train in downtown Edmonds. Officers were able to quickly determine that that male was deceased at the scene.
It was not immediately clear what led to the man鈥檚 death. The incident occurred adjacent to the platform and not at a crossing. Investigators will work with the Snohomish County Medical Examiner to determine the cause and manner of death.
