I-5 closures in Tacoma could impact morning commute

Drivers should anticipate additional overnight single and double-lane closures on both northbound and southbound I-5 between L Street and the Port of Tacoma Road throughout the week.
Northbound I-5 between L Street and the Puyallup River Bridge will be reduced to a single lane during the overnight hours of Monday, Dec. 14 and Tuesday, Dec. 15.
Single, double and triple lane closures will begin at 9 p.m., 11 p.m. and 12:01 a.m. respectively. Two lanes will reopen by 4 a.m., with all lanes opening by 5 a.m. each following morning.
Southbound I-5 will also be reduced to a single lane between the Puyallup River Bridge and L Street during the overnight hours of Friday, Dec. 18. Single, double and triple lane closures will begin at 10 p.m., 12:01 a.m. and 1 a.m. respectively. Two lanes of southbound I-5 will be open by 5 a.m., with all lanes open by 7 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19.
