Traffic signal adjusted after baby was killed in Bellevue

A baby was killed in Bellevue Tuesday when a car careened over a sidewalk and into the child and her mother.

The crash occurred on 140th Avenue Northeast near Bel-Red Road. A Dodge Durango and Nissan collided in the intersection and the Nissan was pushed off the road and onto the sidewalk, where a 25-year-old mother and her 2-year-old daughter were standing. The girl died at the scene.
After the accident investigation, Bellevue transportation officials made some adjustments to the traffic signals.

No word yet on if the signal change is permanent or if a different type of signal will replace the flashing yellow.
