Man shot in chest during Belltown shooting, suspect at large

An investigation into a shooting that critically injured a man in Belltown on Sunday is underway, the Seattle Police Department (SPD) .
At approximately 2 a.m., SPD officers responded to a reported shooting in an alley north of 66 Bell Street.

Officers arrived and found a 20-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.
SPD officers administered aid to the victim before the Seattle Fire Department medics arrived.
The man was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
SPD officers searched the area of the shooting, but were not able to locate the suspected shooter.
The investigation is being led by detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit. The detectives are currently working to determine the events that led to the shooting.
