The Seattle Police Department (SPD) arrested a man after he allegedly stabbed one person and robbed another.
The stabbing occurred just before 6 p.m. Monday. When officers arrived at the scene of the stabbing, near California Ave. S.W. in West Seattle, they found a man, 47, who had been stabbed in the arm. The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center.
According to the SPD, the suspect also grabbed a second person’s arm and stole her purse before threatening a third person with a knife. Neither of them was hurt.
Officers found and arrested the suspect near 51st Ave. and S.W. Pritchard Street after numerous witnesses saw him flee the scene with a knife and a skateboard under his arm.
“Police quickly contained the area, and a K9 unit assisted in the search,” SPD stated in its crime blotter. “Officers found the suspect near 51st Avenue and Southwest Pritchard Street. After taking the man into custody, officers had the Seattle Fire Department evaluate him at the scene. He was not injured.”
The suspect was booked into King County Jail, charged with assault and robbery. Detectives from the Homicide and Assault Unit are continuing the investigation.
