With Donald Trump set to leave office Wednesday, he faces a difficult post-presidency life that could be rife with lawsuits to go with a struggling real estate empire.

“Trump faces a pretty significant set of challenges on a variety of fronts,” Washington Post reporter told ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Radio’s Dave Ross.

As Fahrenthold points out, Trump’s businesses have faced significant struggles as a result of the ongoing pandemic. Combined with a public image marred by the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, the future looks bleak.

“His business has been getting worse while he’s been in office, and it has gotten much worse in the last couple of weeks since the Capitol attack,” he described. “He’s lost lenders, banks, e-commerce vendors, the big PGA tournament — a lot of the things that were going to help him rebound are gone.”

“Even the Girl Scouts are trying to leave their office in the Trump building [in New York City],” Fahrenthold added.

That’s all without discussing the legal trouble Trump could soon face, sans the protection afforded by his status as a sitting president.

Fahrenthold expects those threats to ramp up soon, ranging from lawsuits stemming from the Capitol attack, to a Georgia investigation into a phone call made to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger urging him “find votes” that would potentially overturn the state’s election results.

“I think that Trump’s legal challenges, they’re going to really multiply … within days of him leaving office,” Fahrenthold predicted.
