The man who got the tape of Donald Trump having an out to the public can’t say much about acquiring the footage.
“I really can’t,” David Fahrenthold of The Washington Post told Seattle’s Morning News.
And that makes sense, because there’s a chance he could get his hands on more raw footage in the future.

Of course, nothing is guaranteed. But Fahrenthold says he hopes he gets more.
“There could be a lot of other people who handled that footage and audio along its path,” he said. “We’re certainly trying to get that, I know other people are, too.”
The footage, as many have pointed out now, shows Trump in a way we, as a country, have never seen before, Fahrenthold points out. He wasn’t playing a character. It was in a private place and he was talking about his behavior toward women.
It’s the kind of rhetoric Trump has brushed off as “locker-room talk.” Fahrenthold says he’s never heard something like that in a common setting.
Fahrenthold says the Post was not trying to get the video out before the debate. It was trying to get it out as quickly as possible — being careful that there would be no legal repercussions.

As a political reporter, Fahrenthold has noticed that both Trump and Hillary Clinton are sticking to a certain set of talking points. He expects the third presidential debate on Oct. 19 to be an interesting one.
