By now you’ve seen the headline: “Alex Jones concedes Sandy Hook attack was ‘100% real’”

What do you do with a headline like that?

More from Dave Ross: We need our ferries fully staffed to stay afloat, even if it means dropping vaccine mandates

Do you celebrate because now, even Alex Jones who made a career out of claiming that everything from the Oklahoma City Bombing to Sandy Hook was staged by the government – that even he at last believes?

Is this the breakthrough moment that will scrub the internet of all the flame throwers?

And the really big question, if he starts fact-checking his show what happens to sales of his pricey dietary supplements?

I don’t know, but I doubt that Jones’s admission will change anything.

First, by definition, there is no way to know when a career liar has stopped lying. And second, there’s just too much money to be made by pushing the idea that the world is run by government puppeteers who carefully plan all news events.

Jones’ e-mails show he could bring in $800,000 a day selling stuff to people who wanted – and probably needed – to hear his message. And whatever happens to him, I think that audience will still be there – ready to listen to any angry messenger who can argue with a straight face that dark forces run everything and that the violence we’re seeing has nothing to do with the easy availability of so many powerful weapons.

And until someone figures out why there is such a huge audience for that message, I believe that the angry messengers – and their dietary supplements – will keep coming.

Although I see that according to Amazon, the “Infowars Life – Super Male Vitality – Natural Stamina, Endurance & Strength Booster – Vegan, Non-GMO & Gluten Free Liquid Drops” are currently unavailable, and it is not known when or if this item will be back in stock.

Oh well. You can always try .
