Ross: A Christmas passion play on both sides of the aisle

With the electors voting for Biden, another of Trump’s friends is telling him to give it up.
“It is over, the electoral college has voted. The longer we drag this out, the more we damage the fabric of our democracy.”
That’s Geraldo Rivera on Fox – but right next to him on the screen was Charlie Kirk of the conservative group , which is an incubator for young conservatives, saying wait a minute! The fraud is real:
“There are still plenty of pending legal challenges, there are still hundreds of …”
“That is so dishonest; so dishonest,” Geraldo replied.
Dishonest, says Geraldo! And then – anchor Martha McCallum rolls a montage of pro-Trump demonstrators like this one:
“We are Americans, we are gonna stand up, and it is time that our votes count.”
The woman is almost in tears! McCallum’s point being:
“The passion is real for these millions and millions of people.”
And that is now the logic of the Save Trump movement: We have passion, we can fill the streets, therefore Trump must win.
And you know what? That’s ALSO the logic of the Left: WE have passion, WE can fill the streets, therefore capitalism must die.
To which I say – this is EXACTLY why we have a Constitution! To harness human passions and channel them away from the streets and into the halls of Congress. How about we let it work?
