Were any of you shocked by what you were driving through yesterday afternoon?
I had to drive from Lynnwood to Vashon Island. I could just make out Bellevue from State Route 405. At the halfway point on the Interstate 90 bridge – you could barely see the shoreline ahead or behind.
More from Dave Ross: With current police shortage, Seattle is already no-cop zone
I crossed the West Seattle Bridge. I couldn’t see downtown.
And it was weird. And I thought – wait a minute – I must have slipped into the 3-D film Noir Metaverse.
Yeah! There’s Humphrey Bogart pulling up beside me on the ferry. I looked out at the city – it was all in black and white.
I guess this must be what all those climate change experts were warning us about. But I heard somewhere the data was bogus. They made it up.
Go ahead and drive your car. Life is short. It’s somebody else’s problem.
Don’t be a chump, they said.
Hit the gas station, and fill up with $6 per gallon gas. Tires keep on turning; Fires keep on burning.
It’s a crazy world out there.
But it’ll be OK. I’ve got my emergency food; I’ve got my emergency water.
Now I just gotta figure out where I get my emergency air!
I guess I could start saving those little air pillows that come in my Amazon packages.
Boy, Zuckerberg sure made this metaverse seem real.
Wait a minute – How come the goggles don’t come off?
