I think a lot of us have been surprised that Canada would be the place where the latest social protest would break out, but here we are.

A thousand truckers are blocking the bridge between Ottawa and Detroit, which is forcing U.S. car factories to cancel shifts and slow down production. And it鈥檚 not just about wages and working conditions, like our concrete worker strike here in Seattle.

According to , the truckers organizing the Canadian protest are convinced that the COVID pandemic is the first phase of what鈥檚 called 鈥淭he Great Reset,鈥� in which the wealthy elites would create a new economic system where private property is abolished and capitalism is replaced by a new form of wealth based on harmony with nature.

If you’re wondering where truckers got the idea that a 鈥淕reat Reset鈥� was about to be imposed on the world, you need look no further than a video from the 2020 World Economic Forum, where a voiceover ominously lays out its vision for the future in the early months of the pandemic.

“The current global crisis has disrupted every aspect of our lives, but it has also presented us with an extraordinary opportunity, a chance to reset and accelerate efforts to improve the state of our world,” a narrator describes.

He calls COVID as an 鈥渙pportunity,” and then Prince Charles comes on to explain how we should use this to our advantage.

鈥淲e have an incredible opportunity to create entirely new sustainable industries investing in nature as the true engine of our economy,” he said.

An idea which, with help from spooky music played in the background of Prince Charles’ speech, is conspiracy catnip.

鈥淲e need to evolve our economic model, we need nothing short of a paradigm shift one that inspires action at revolutionary levels and pace — the only limit is our willingness to act,” he proclaimed.

It almost reminds me of Emperor Palpatine in “Star Wars,” describing how “the dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.鈥�

I know Prince Charles probably means well, but it鈥檚 just too close to the infamous villain’s own message: “Only through me can you achieve a power greater than any Jedi.”

This is why the global elites need to stop holding meetings in Switzerland where they think they can plan everybody鈥檚 future. You guys are making it worse! People don鈥檛 even trust the politicians聽they elect. Then you guys meet at your alpine fortress and hatch plans to go back to nature.

Of course truckers are going to block bridges! If you want to do something constructive, just quietly create more of the kind of jobs that people can actually enjoy. Before ticking off the truckers, at least get your Hyperloop built first so we can get our car parts.

And stop that music.
