election, Castor, impeachment...

I knew the Democrats would show a pretty intense video at the impeachment trial yesterday. But what I was NOT prepared for was the argument from Mr. Trump’s attorney Bruce Castor, who made the case that the Democrats were only doing this because they were afraid that if Trump was free to run again – he’d win.

Which is ridiculous, Castor said, because look at what just happened.

“The American people just spoke,” he said. “And they just changed administrations. So, in the light most favorable to my colleagues on the other side of the aisle here, their system works.”

Yes, he said the reason this trial is bogus is that the election system works! It’s not rigged.

Did Trump know that’s the argument? Did his lawyer maybe misspeak?

“The people are smart enough to pick a new administration if they don’t like the old one,” Castor said. “And they just did.”

No, he meant it. So Donald Trump’s his client should be free to run again because America had a fair election, and that election did the will of the people.

So, all those protesters now being arrested, and fingerprinted, and saddled with a rap sheet  — were duped.

Trump himself maintains social media silence. So either he’s OK with this, or his lawyers have him chained to a radiator at Mar-A-Lago with his hands in lead mittens. I need Bob Woodward’s number!
