After a member of Congress was shot during baseball practice in Virginia, it prompted the question: What radicalized the gunman?
成人X站 Radio’s Dave Ross attempted to answer that question after it was discovered that the shooter, 66-year-old James Hodgkinson, was a Bernie Sanders supporter.
“The stuff he wrote about trickle down economics and Republicans giving tax breaks to the 鈥1 percent鈥 is straight out of the Democratic platform. But it鈥檚 hardly radical,” Dave said after the shooting that left Rep. Steve Scalise in critical condition.
So, where would Hodgkinson get this extreme idea to use a gun to eliminate elected officials? Dave asked.
“Well, actually, from a lot of respectable websites, which explains that it鈥檚 not at all an extreme idea. It鈥檚 actually embedded in our Constitution; that the purpose of a weapon is for self-defense, yes, but also to protect the nation from a tyrannical government.”
Dave’s comments prompted a response from Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson and this on Fox News Insider: “Tucker Battles Radio Host Who Said Constitution Helped Radicalize Scalise Shooter.”
“According to a Seattle radio show host Dave Ross, Hodgkinson may also have been motivated by a Conservative understanding of the Constitution, believing his assassination attempt was a constitutionally protected use of violence to resist tyranny. There’s a theory for you,” Carlson says.
“It seems to me like, here’s a guy who said exactly why he did what he did pretty clearly, and yet you’re blaming the country and the constitution for what he did,” Carlson adds.
“Not at all. No,” Dave responds.
