This week for “All Over The Map,” back by popular demand, it鈥檚 time for more mini-song parodies, inspired by the names of Washington towns.
We first did this聽back in August, and we had help from the multi-talented Aaron Mason, co-host of 成人X站 Nights. Who can forget his haunting renditions of 鈥淢ount Vernon For You,鈥 鈥淟a Push It,鈥 and 鈥淕irlfriend in Tacoma鈥?
After that iconic moment in 成人X站 Radio history, a commenter at MyNorthwest named Paul Schmidt helpfully suggested some brilliant additional songs. Aaron and I each thought of a few more, and then Aaron went into the studio to cut some new tracks.
鈥淪moke on LaConner鈥 (鈥淪moke on the Water鈥 by Deep Purple)
Deep Purple tribute to the tulip capital of the Skagit Valley.
鈥淪emiahmoo Bay鈥 (鈥淪end Me on My Way鈥 by Rusted Root)
Rusted Root song about a harbor in Whatcom County.
鈥淟ynden Let Die鈥 (鈥淟ive and Let Die鈥 by Paul McCartney)
James Bond/Paul McCartney tribute to a Dutch community in Whatcom County.
鈥淏aby, You’re in Richland鈥 (鈥淏aby, You’re a Rich Man” by The Beatles)
The Fab Four take Benton County by storm!
鈥淏濒补颈苍别鈥 (鈥淔ame鈥 by David Bowie)
1970s glam pop for a Whatcom County border town.
鈥淲e Will Rockport鈥 (鈥淲e Will Rock You鈥 by Queen)
This track asks the question, what if Freddie Mercury and Brian May had grown up along the North Cascades Highway?
There were a few more we couldn鈥檛 get to for this round, including 鈥淪tartup Me鈥 by The Rolling Stones; 鈥淟ivin鈥 in Belfair鈥 by Bon Jovi; and 鈥淢y Algona鈥 by The Knack.
Give us more ideas 鈥 or tell us to PLEASE STOP THIS NONSENSE NOW 鈥 in the comments!
