People already complain over the Seattle Seahawks having to travel more than any other team in the NFL. So it’s unlikely teams would be enthusiastic about more international travel.
But that’s exactly what the NFL is considering. The league is looking into more international games at stadiums in Brazil, Germany, and Mexico.
The Seahawks are already at a disadvantage with the amount of travel they do during the season, “>成人X站 Radio’s Tom Tangney pointed out. On top of that, other teams complain when they have to travel to Seattle, he added.
This season there will be three international games in London at Wembley Stadium. The tradition began in 2007.
The success has the NFL considering expanding to other countries.
Discussion over the expansion into other countries is similar to that of the NBA hosting games in China, John Curley said.
“[The NFL] wants to become a worldwide league,” Tangney added.
The NFL is just considering other countries to host games, not form their own teams.
Tangney said he can imagine, someday, teams from an American NFL league competing against an international league. But it would still mean a heck of a lot of travel.
“It would be a great trip for players, but they would lose their focus,” he said.
Though there might not be any international games for Seahawks fans look forward to this season, they can get excited to see Russell Wilson play out the final season of his rookie deal.
