Tiffany Smiley is hoping to become the first Republican senator elected in Washington since 1994.

Recent polling data suggests that Smiley is neck-and-neck with longtime incumbent Patty Murray.

Smiley’s campaign is focused on tackling key issues affecting families in Washington. Recently, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) and Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) appeared on The Jason Rantz Show to back Smiley in an effort to bring the Red Wave to the west side of the Cascades.

Rantz: Auditor鈥檚 office censors online political speech, calls voting on Election Day 鈥榤isinformation鈥

鈥淚t means Republicans have that 51st vote and that is the vote we need,鈥 Blackburn said of a potential victory for Smiley in Washington. Blackburn points to energy independence as something Republicans can re-establish if they can gain a senate majority.

鈥淭iffany Smiley has run the best campaign of anybody in this country,鈥 Blackburn said. 鈥淲hen you look at her passion and her dedication for this country and protecting its freedoms 鈥 it is an inspiration.鈥

Smiley is currently on a bus tour around the entire state, visiting with voters ahead of the Nov. 8 election. The Republican challenger recently unveiled a campaign ad featuring her children and encouraging Washingtonians to vote.

鈥淪he is a strong, powerful person,鈥 Sen. Tim Scott said. 鈥淲e need optimism in the United States Senate and [there is] no better place to get it than Washington state and Tiffany Smiley. She understands the impact that inflation is having on families in Washington and in the nation.”

He also stated he was impressed with her upbeat candor when the two met in person earlier this year.

Mere months ago, Smiley was well behind in the polls. Now, a political newcomer has a chance to mark a major victory for the Republican party and for Washington state.
