After the antisemitic attack against attendees of an event in Boulder, Colorado, calling for the release of Israeli hostages, an extremist group at the University of Washington (UW) promoted training on why “armed resistance” against Israel is a “scientific necessity amidst decades of settler-colonial violence.” The promotion celebrated the October 7 terrorist attack.
Students United for Palestinian Equality and Return (SUPER UW) shared a previously posted Instagram promotion late Sunday evening, hours after learning of the Boulder terrorist attack.
“Join SUPER for our upcoming teach-in, the Right to Resist: Al-Aqsa Flood & Armed Resistance,” the post said. “This teach-in will cover why we commemorate Al-Aqsa Flood as not only a victory for the resistance, but a scientific necessity amidst decades of settler-colonial violence. Additionally, we will address disinformation used to enable the genocide against Palestinians currently unfolding, and why it is vital for us to stand in solidarity with the resistance.”
Al Aqsa flood is the name of the Hamas-led terrorism against Israel on October 7. It has the support of students like V茅ronique Harris, who, on Instagram, declared, “Glory to Al Aqsa flood.”
Why does UW keep tolerating blatant antisemitism?
Ariel Ein-Gal, a 27-year-old survivor of the October 7 terrorist attack, weighed in on the post. He said that as “a civilian survivor from October 7th massacre, would you like to invite me also? I want to hear why the massacre was justified.”
Of course, Ein-Gal is not invited.
SUPER UW is a Hamas-supporting hate group that, despite being suspended as a UW student group, continues to use the campus for organizing and hosting events. It’s unclear where this particular “teach-in” will be hosted.
A history of antisemitism on campus
UW administrators have consistently tolerated virulent and blatant antisemitism on campus since October 7.聽Students and faculty have defended or justified the Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel, claiming that they were provoked into raping, kidnapping, and murdering innocent Jews, while the university sat by.
In February, SUPER UW hosted a campus rally that celebrated Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind behind the Oct. 7 terrorist attack.
鈥淲e say glory to our martyrs. Glory to the resistance. We salute the prisoners and the people,鈥 a speaker declared before chanting with the crowd.
鈥淵ahya Sinwar, you set the bar! Yahya Sinwar, you left a scar,鈥 antisemites chanted while classes were underway nearby.
Last month, a group of students was suspended and arrested for allegedly causing over $1 million in damages to the Interdisciplinary Engineering Building because Boeing donated funds to build it. Boeing does business with the Israeli government, triggering the Jew-hating UW students.
