Seattle police are investigating a drive-by shooting that left one teen injured.

A 13-year-old boy was shot in the ankle late Thursday night at .

Police say that according to the victim and his friends, the shooting resulted from an earlier altercation between two groups.

“Obviously he (the victim) was in one of the groups that had the argument going back and forth,” said Mark Jamieson with the Seattle Police Department. “Whether this person was the end target or not, that is something yet to be determined.”

Police were told that an Asian male leaned out the window of what is described as a small, dirty, and boxy vehicle, fired several shots and then fled.

The boy was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
