Early reports of a three-alarm fire in Sumner come from East Pierce Fire & Rescue (EPFR) after crews were called to a scene at 2:34 a.m. Friday morning.
The city tweets the blaze is on Main Street and they have shut power off to the area as the East Pierce Fire Department is responding.

East Pierce Fire has said that they are shutting off power to the area as they try and put fires out at multiple businesses, but the blaze is no longer spreading and has been contained to the business it originally started at.
Some reports say that the inferno came from a gas leak, with EPFR saying the fire is ‘gas fed’ and tweeting out that a natural gas main has been secured.

The department reported 35-mile-per-hour winds in the area yesterday, but no confirmation on a cause just yet.
Main Street is closed from Fryar Avenue to Wood Avenue, and side streets may also have limited access north of Main Street, the city said.
Officials are asking people to stay clear of the area.
