An electronic billboard near the I-5 freeway in Fife is hard to ignore. More so now that it features an angry-looking Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks with the caption: “Zero Class.”
The image of Sherman, taken seconds after Seattle’s win over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, was paid for by an out-of-town customer, according to a spokesman for the sign company.
The owner of Emerald Outdoor says the message cost $7,200.
The billboard company was told that supporters of the customer are raising money to pay for the message with the excess going to charity, according to the spokesman.
The spokesman says he loves Richard Sherman and supports the Seahawks but he also endorses freedom of speech. He adds that two pro-Seahawks message will make the billboard rotation, including one going up Thursday.
