Hawaiian Airlines has announced a new policy that travelers who miss a flight will immediately lose any value tied to non-refundable tickets.
This includes tickets bought with money and frequent flyer miles, which, according to , cannot be used as credit toward a future trip. The new rule applies to all non-refundable tickets purchased in the United States, with no exceptions for HawaiianMiles or Mileage Plan Elite members.
Miss a flight, lose your ticket
Hawaiian Airlines’ website stated, “We’ll cancel your flight reservation and all continuing and return flights.”
Hawaiian is reminding customers to modify their travel plans online or by calling its reservations department at 1-800-367-5320 to avoid losing a ticket.
The airline also notes that travelers already at the airport and missing their flight may still have options by speaking with a customer service agent at a check-in counter.
