First responders were called to the scene of a plane crash in Bothell Tuesday evening after their engine experienced what investigators are describing as a complete engine failure.

The plane attempted to make an emergency landing but hit a high-tension power line on its way down.

When Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue arrived at 10:20 p.m. at Southeast 228th Street, just south of 45th Avenue Southeast near Miner’s Corner, they found the experimental plane, along with its three passengers, two people and a dog, injured but alive.

They are expected to recover from the minor injuries sustained in the crash.

The Federal Aviation Administration will be at the scene on Wednesday morning to investigate.
