The ‘Barefoot Bandit’ refused to enter a plea to a theft charge Thursday in Skagit County.
The theft case is linked to an airplane stolen in Arlington in 2010. Colton Harris-Moore said he’s already been sentenced for that crime because he was charged by the prosecutor in San Juan County, where he landed the airplane.
that the 21-year old Camano Island man did enter a not guilty plea to burglary, a crime associated with the airplane theft.
Skagit County Prosecutor Rich Weyrich said the charges are appropriate because the crimes in his county were not part of a wide-ranging plea agreement in 2011 that consolidated crimes in several jurisdiction committed by the teenage criminal.
Harris-Moore is serving a 6-1/2 year prison sentence for more than 40 felony convictions. He was captured in the Bahamas in 2010 when he crash-landed a stolen airplane.
