A teacher at Bellevue Christian School has been charged with child molestation and the victim’s family alleges the school “swept it under the rug.”
that teacher and coach Ed Sloan is accused of inappropriately touching a 13-year-old girl at Bellevue Christian School in 2012. The teen and her family reported the allegation to school officials before leaving and enrolling in another school. The victim’s family told prosecutors that the school did not act on the report. In 2016, they went to authorities.
Sloan, 42, worked as a science and shop teacher at the school, and also coached track and cross country.
Sloan’s employee file from the superintendent’s office reportedly contains other allegations of inappropriate touching dating back to 1999, according to ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ 7.
obtained a response from Bellevue Christian School’s interim superintendent Tim Krell, who acknowledged that the allegations involved the school’s Clyde Hill campus. Krell said the staff member in question is on administrative leave and will not return for the 2016-17 school year.
“We take this situation very seriously and we are cooperating fully with all requests by law enforcement and the King County Prosecuting Attorney,” Krell wrote.
