A Bothell High School alum, selected in the first round of the NBA draft in 2014, dominated the NBA All-Star Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday.
Zach Lavine, 19, played one year at UCLA and is now in his first with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Renton-born basketball star came out to the Barclays Center court in Brooklyn to the title song from the 1997 movie “Space Jam,” starring Michael Jordan. For his first dunk, he shed his Timberwolves jersey to don a “TuneSquad” jersey – like that from the movie, bearing Jordan’s name and number.
