Tacoma is celebrating the reopening of the 100-year old Murray Morgan Bridge.
An inspection in 2007 by the Washington State Department of Transportation concluded the steel bridge over the Foss Waterway was structurally deficient and it was closed.
The newly renovated bridge features a pedestrian and bicycle path and serves as an emergency route and link between downtown Tacoma and the Port of Tacoma.
A re-dedication ceremony is planned for Feb. 15.
