Community Transit bus catches fire Friday morning in Snohomish, forces evacuation

A road closure and an evacuation of a Community Transit bus was issued after it caught fire early Friday morning in Snohomish.
The fire started just before 7 a.m. in the 3700 block of Bickford Ave. in Snohomish. The bus, which was diesel-powered, had three passengers on board, in addition to the driver.
No injuries were reported as all four people were safely evacuated.
Once fire crews arrived, heavy flames were already erupting from the front of the bus. Officials said the fire was not connected to the engine compartment, according to Snohomish County Fire District #4.
The road was temporarily closed as firefighters fought the flames with approximately 600 gallons of water. The road has since reopened.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
