Be prepared for crowds and longer lines at Sea-Tac Airport over the rest of the week.

About 148,000 travelers are expected to pass through Sea-Tac Airport Wednesday, and again on Thursday following the Christmas holiday. That means longer lines at TSA checkpoints, and longer lines for cars dropping off and picking up passengers. It’s all part of a post-Christmas travel rush at the airport.

³ÉÈËXÕ¾ 7’s Robert Munoz reports that after this week, the busiest travel days of the year will be behind us. Still, Jan. 2, 2019 is expected to be another heavy day for travelers.

Christmas day was the calm before the travel storm. A handful of travelers flocked to Sea-Tac to avoid the massive crowds expected to flood the airport. TSA agents told ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ 7 that many passengers have brought them cookies and other holiday treats with notes for them as they worked on Christmas day.

“I’ve (traveled on Christmas day) three years in a row now,” Nancy Wisnieski told ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ 7. “Perfect time to travel.”

Meanwhile, traffic for the morning commute the day after Christmas was considerably light.
