Curtis High School teacher arrested on charges of sex with student

Another high school teacher in Pierce County is in trouble for allegedly having sex with a student.
The latest case involves a 33-year-old Curtis High School teacher jailed on five counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.
The University Place Schools Superintendent that another student and a parent contacted a school counselor last month and the man was placed on paid leave while allegations were investigated. The teacher was arrested Tuesday night.
Last week, the Pierce County Prosecutor filed charges against Lincoln High math teacher Meredith Powell, 24. She pleaded not guilty Friday to two counts of third-degree child rape and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.
