A family is pushing for answers after a traumatizing moment at Yelm Middle School. A student claims she got her period in her classroom, but wasn鈥檛 allowed to use the restroom as it bled through her clothes.

鈥淚 was like, 鈥楤ut I need to go to the bathroom. I鈥檓 on my period. I need to go change my pad,鈥欌�� said 13-year-old Byllie Eighinger-Lemm. 鈥淚 was straight up with her, and then she was like, 鈥楪o sit down.鈥欌��

Eighinger-Lemm started texting her father, who told her she should get up and go to the bathroom anyway.

In the hallway, she says school employees confronted her and told her she would need to report to in-school suspension, after grabbing her belongings in front of her class.

鈥淚 knew that it was visible and that they could see it,鈥� she said. 鈥淚t was really embarrassing. Then, I was kind of scared because I was getting in trouble.鈥�

鈥淪he missed the rest of the week of school, due to embarrassment,鈥� said her father, Bill Lemm. 鈥淪he got in the truck and she was in tears.鈥�

The family is seeking accountability — and permanent change.

鈥淭hese are young minds growing into adulthood,鈥� Lemm said. 鈥淭hat teacher, by demoralizing her the way she did, there鈥檚 no fixing that.鈥�

District officials told 成人X站 7 they were looking into the incident.

鈥淲e are aware of the situation and are investigating the incident,鈥� wrote District Communications Director Teri Melone. 鈥淒istrict and building administration have been in contact with the family, and we will follow up with them after the investigation.鈥�

鈥淛ust knowing that she won鈥檛 do that to any other kid,鈥� Eighinger-Lemm said. 鈥淜nowing that could happen to someone younger than me… that鈥檚 kind of heartbreaking.鈥�
