Dave’s drone fears come true on Capitol Hill

Dave Ross is borderline obsessed with drones. He even wrote a Christmas poem about them.
While excited for the potential of gifts falling from the sky, he’s also worried about a drone crashing into him. One such incident was reported on Capitol Hill Thursday morning.
Seattle police say a couple called them after a small drone crashed into the side of their home near 13th Avenue East and East Aloha Street.
They heard the sound of breaking glass in their living room around 7:30 a.m. A white drone – with a camera still recording – was lying on the ground outside of their dining room window.
No injuries were reported.
Officers took note of the broken window and window frame and booked the drone into evidence. SPD says it’s working on getting a warrant to review the drone footage and identify the pilot.
This isn’t the first drone crash in Seattle. An Oak Harbor man was charged with reckless endangerment after a drone he was flying crashed into a woman at the Seattle Pride parade last June. Another drone crashed into the Seattle Great Wheel. That case was forwarded on to the Federal Aviation Administration for further review.
