Feb 24, 2020, 3:58 PM

Following the recent storms and flooding across the region, the deadline to submit damage loss reports in King County has been extended to March 2.

Strong winds bring down trees, power lines across Western Washington

Individuals and businesses who have incurred damage or loss to their home, business, or property from flooding may be eligible for assistance.

Reports can be submitted or by phone at 1-800-523-5044, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In Snohomish County, residents with property in the county who have a valid voucher can drop off floodwater-damaged household items at no cost until mid-March, with a possible extension until May 31. The vouchers are not eligible for commercial or business waste.

Vouchers can be obtained at the American Red Cross in Everett, Snohomish County Courthouse, North, South, and East Precincts, and the Granite Falls, Snohomish, and Stanwood Police Departments.

Once the voucher is obtained, residents can dispose of water-damaged items at the Airport Road, North County, or Southwest County Recycling and Transfer Stations, the Dubuque Road Drop Box, Granite Falls Drop Box, or Sultan Drop Box.

Accepted items include flood-damaged carpets, mattresses, clothes, furniture, plasterboard, appliances (except refrigerators and freezers), oil-based paint, and small amounts of hazardous waste.

For more information on facility locations, hours of operation, and general acceptance policies call the Snohomish County Solid Waste Division at 425-388-3425 or visit .
