Report: Donald Trump Everett rally cost city $79K

Donald Trump visited Washington for about four hours this week. And the cost of those four hours equated to about $79,000 spent on Donald Trump’s Everett rally.

The that the City of Everett paid a total of $79,000 to cover the costs of extra police and fire crews to cover the event at the Xfinity Arena, as well as overtime. It wasn’t only Everett police who took on the event. About 200 police officers from neighboring cities were called in to assist.

What did Donald Trump say in Everett?

The city expects Xfinity Arena to help with half of the costs.

Police handled the 9,184 people who attended the event, as well as the crowds of protesters who lined the streets around the arena.

There were two arrests. One arrest involved a protester who yelled at a child holding a Trump sign and then punched the father. And there were four medical emergencies inside the arena during the event.

According to the Herald:

• Everett police officers earned $43,000 in regular pay; $7,473 in overtime pay
• 25 fire department personnel worked around Trump’s rally

The police force assigned to the event included (not including security at Paine Field where Trump landed):

• 69 police officers from Everett
• 6 officers from Bellingham
•  2 officers from Marysville
• 22 SWAT officers from Everett and Snohomish County
• 40 bicycle cops from Seattle
• 10 deputies from Snohomish County
• 100 Washington State Patrol
• 6 deputies from Whatcom County
• 26 officers from Lynnwood and Mmikilteo
