Update:聽The student was a 13-year-old boy, who had an Airsoft gun confiscated by police, according to Enumclaw Police Acting Commander Gary Horejsi. He also confirmed the boy is being held in juvenile detention until his next arraignment on Wednesday.
King County Prosecutors argued that the defendant should be held in custody because of the danger to the community, and a judge agreed.

A student has been arrested after Enumclaw Police said there was a credible threat they planned a school shooting on Halloween.
A post on the Enumclaw School District’s Facebook page said students and staff are safe, and that after administrators learned of the potential shooting threat, they contacted police.
“On Thursday, October 27, 2022, at approximately 9 a.m., the Enumclaw Police Department School Resource Officer was contacted by Enumclaw Middle School regarding reports of a student who had threatened to carry out a shooting at the Enumclaw Middle School on October 31, 2022 (Halloween),” the school wrote in an update on social media. “This threat was reported by other students to school administration. The Enumclaw Police Department School Resource Officer responded to the school and gathered information. A detective from the Enumclaw Police Department also responded to assist in the investigation.”
The threat was directed at Enumclaw Middle School.
Students first alerted administrators to the situation. The students who turned him in said he was making verbal threats. Nothing was posted on social media, according to Horejsi.
Enumclaw Police said the school’s resource officer determined the student who made threat wasn’t in the building Thursday, so they said there was no immediate danger.
An investigation continues.
Out of an abundance of caution, Enumclaw Middle School聽will have an increased safety presence on Monday.
The court found probable cause for threats to bomb or injure property and for felony harassment.
