Fire crews shrink 153-acre fire near Leavenworth to 63 acres

Washington State Department of Natural Resources (WA-DNR) crews are responding to a wildfire near Leavenworth.
The fire was reported to encompass 153 acres, and has since been revised to 63 acres around 8 miles north of the city, WA-DNR reported on Tuesday.
Air and ground resources are being used to try to control the fire. The WA-DNR conducted a successful overflight, dousing the fire with fire retardant chemicals.
Local advisories
“A Level 1 Fire Advisory has been issued for the Second Creek Bridge fire in Leavenworth. Level 1 in effect from the intersection of Merry Canyon Rd up Second Creek Rd, three miles up,” according to
Chelan County Fire District 3 stated that the fire is burning on US Forest Service (USFS) property and is being managed by USFS and WA-DNR.
WA-DNR stated it will continue to update conditions.
