The average price for a gallon of gasoline is still dropping after hitting its peak in mid-June at $5.67 per gallon.

While the national average for a gallon of gas dropped 15 cents last week, in Washington state that number was only 12 cents.

Gas prices in Washington state hit record high, up $2 from last year

Currently, the national average is $4.52 a gallon , while in Washington the current figure stands at $5.23 a gallon.

According to AAA, the decline in prices is due to lower demand for gas at the pump and a much lower global demand for oil.

鈥淕lobal economic headwinds are pushing oil prices lower, and less expensive oil leads to lower pump prices,鈥 said AAA spokesperson Andrew Gross in speaking to 成人X站 7. 鈥淎nd here at home, people are fueling up less, despite this being the height of the traditional summer driving season. These two key factors are behind the recent drop in pump prices.鈥

Washington is not listed in the top 10 states for having seen the largest weekly decrease in gas prices or one of the top 10 least expensive states for gas.
