Digital photo frames were a major trend a few years ago, and GeekWire’s John Cook found an application that mimics the digital frame’s display, all while skipping the physical frame.
“It turns your iPhone, or your parents’ iPhone, or iPad basically into that device,” says John, “and you can share photos very easily through the app.”
is a free app compatible with iPhone, Android, Kindle, PC, and Mac systems created to share photos privately directly between family members.
Just load photos in and share and when a family member opens the app, it will show the photos as a collage, or can be set up to load new photos into a device’s screen saver.
The app is also compatible with Facebook and Picasa so users can load photos directly into either website and share simultaneously with the application.
As with many apps, users can sign in through Facebook, but it’s not required to use Familiar. Users are also given the opportunity to create an account with their email addresses online.
