Now that GeekWire’s Todd Bishop has ordered a Microsoft Surface Tablet, he’s enjoying exploring the first crop of Windows 8 applications.

, a free Windows 8 app, is a painting application and one of the newest available Microsoft applications.

“It’s just a really cool painting application,” says Todd. “It lets you choose different brushes with your finger; it actually looks very much like a paint canvas on-screen.”

The application also allows users to upload and edit photos, painting over or distorting the image.

Todd likes the application because it’s fun for adults, but also a creative distraction for children.

“It’s just a nice little demonstration of the touch capabilities in Windows 8,” says Todd.
