Gig Harbor Police are warning the public about two potential child luring incidents, and are asking for any helpful information about a suspected woman.

According to police, a woman in an older maroon sedan, possibly a four-door, approached another car on Friday in the 5200 block of Point Fosdick Drive. The car had a mother and a child inside. The woman “fabricated a ruse” to trick the mom into getting out of her car, police say. The mother says the woman had her eyes set on the child. When she saw a man with the suspected woman, the mother drove away.

On Monday along Olympic Drive, a woman in a car matching the same description stopped at a bus stop and started to talk to a mother with her two small children. When the woman’s third child got off the school bus, the suspected female continued to watch them from her car.

These accounts have not been officially reported to police yet. Gig Harbor police say that the reports came to them indirectly. But police are investigating and are looking for the suspect.

The suspected woman has a “notably pock-marked face,” according to police. Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call 253-851-2236. And if anyone encounters a similar situation, police ask that they call 911, and safely obtain the license plate number.
