A federal judge has blocked part of Idaho’s strict abortion ban from taking effect.
The provision denies abortions even in medical emergencies.
The judge’s ruling means at least for now, hospitals in Idaho may continue treating ectopic pregnancies and other pregnancy-related complications normally.
Idaho’s law makes performing an abortion in any “clinically diagnosable pregnancy,” a felony, punishable by up to five years in prison.
In a written ruling, the judge said the pause on enforcement will continue, until a lawsuit challenging the ban is resolved.
Nurses rally against staffing shortage, says puts patients at risk
Nurses at Providence Regional Medical Center rallied yesterday.
They say staff shortages are putting patient safety at risk.
The Washington State Nurses Union told 成人X站 7 TV that for every one to two nurses hired, they lose five to 10.
They say this makes it difficult to provide life-saving care and they need hazard pay.
The union says the situation has only gotten worse since the pandemic began.

Sheriff’s聽deputy injured in head-on collision with suspected drunk driver
A King County Sheriff鈥檚 Office deputy was injured in a head-on crash in Snohomish County early Thursday morning.
According to Washington State Patrol trooper Jacob Kennett, the crash involved another driver who is suspected of driving under the influence.
The crash happened on State Route 2, east of Monroe, Wash. – and blocked the roadway in both directions for hours.
Kennett said the deputy may have suffered a serious hand injury and possibly other injuries.
The driver suspected of driving under the influence was taken into custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
$7 million in repairs needed for ferry that crashed into dock
An update on that Washington state ferry that slammed into pilings at the Fauntleroy ferry dock in West Seattle late last month.
Washington State Ferries (WSF) officials say the damaged vessel, “Cathlamet” has been towed from Bainbridge Island to a dry dock in Everett for repairs.
It’s estimated it will cost taxpayers at least $7 million to fix the vessel, and WSF says they expect the Cathlamet will be out of commission at least through the end of the year.
Amazon Care shuts down, virtual healthcare has “not enough medical options,” company 蝉补测蝉听
Amazon is shutting down its medical care service at the end of the year.
Amazon Care was launched three years ago in Seattle and expanded to all employees and other private companies last year.
It provides virtual visits with doctors and nurses 24 hours a day.
It also offered limited in-person services, like vaccinations and flu testing, in a few cities.
An Amazon spokesperson says the company has decided Amazon Care “did not offer enough medical options to work well for employees and other customers.”
Smiley accepts third debate; Murray has not accepted any yet
Republican Senate challenger Tiffany Smiley has accepted a third debate offer, even though she may be the only one there.
Her opponent, Democrat and sitting Senator Patty Murray, has not committed to any debates.
When we asked her campaign about that last week, we were sent a statement saying “Senator Murray has debated every single opponent she’s faced in a general election, and we’ll share more on this year … soon.”
