Detectives have released photos and video of a man suspected of beating another man to death in Seattle’s International District Saturday night.
Seattle police say the suspect is seen walking with the victim — a 30-year-old man — and a woman prior to the assault. The suspect is described as a Hispanic, Middle-Eastern or Pacific Islander male, in his 20’s, 5’11” to 6’1″ with a medium to stocky build, wearing a black and white “trucker” style baseball cap, a white v-neck t-shirt and black shorts.
Witnesses reported the two men had been fighting near Fifth Ave. and South Weller Street around 9 p.m. and that one man suffered a life-threatening head wound. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center where he later died of his injuries.
Family members have identified the victim as Benito “Benny” Enriquez, according to They say he’s the father of two young girls.
A friend told KING 5 he was at the Kenny Chesney concert with Enriquez, who went to get a t-shirt for his daughter after the show. He planned to meet up with them at the car.
“He went to go meet us at the car which is on 5th and King Street at a construction site that I’m working on,” Joey Smith told KING. “So we made our way back and we saw the police activity and the road shut down and I said ‘This isn’t good,’ because he wasn’t there waiting for us.”
Police say the suspect was with a white female, also in her 20’s, 5’08” medium build, possibly pregnant, long straight blonde hair, wearing a red, pink and white patterned dress, carrying a shoulder bag.
The two were last seen walking eastbound on South Weller Street after the assault.
