The body of a missing Orting woman last seen June 6 in Spanaway has been found in the woods near Kapowsin.
The body of Nicole White, 28, was found on Saturday, according to police. Search dogs led investigators to the woods where they discovered the body wrapped in a tarp.
The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office says the cause of White’s death is not known at this time.
White, the mother of two boys, was last seen leaving the the Jeepers Country Bar & Grill with a man she met through an online dating service.
White’s mother reported her daughter missing the next day when she failed to return home.
Investigators found White’s car on June 8 on a remote road near Graham, miles from the bar.
The man White met at the bar is a person of interest, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
Detective Ed Troyer said the man is in Pierce County Jail on unrelated weapons charges.
He said, hopefully, they’ll have someone charged by the end of the week.
Troyer said people using online dating services should be as cautious as possible. There are things you can do, like taking a picture of the car or the license plate and send it to a friend. Do a background check or whatever else you can to keep yourself safe.
