Mukilteo allows medical marijuana collective gardens

Aug 2, 2011, 5:45 AM | Updated: Oct 10, 2012, 7:28 am

Mukilteo is now allowing medical marijuana collective gardens in certain areas of the city.

In a 5-2 vote Monday night, the Mukilteo City Council passed an ordinance that will allow marijuana collective gardens in specific zones of the city.

Mayor Joe Marine the city needed to take action and provide some direction after a new law regarding collective gardens went into effect in July.

“Because what it does is leave the door open for people to come and locate with really no rules,” says Marine.

Under the new ordinance, ten patients qualified for medical marijuana use can grow up to 45 plants. The plants are for personal use only, and cannot be resold.
