Members of SPD鈥檚 Gun Violence Reduction Unit and members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Offenders Task Force were dispatched around 4:30 p.m. to the suspect’s location with an arrest warrant.

According to the SPD Blotter, the suspect was sitting in his parked car when officers drove up.

That’s when they say he attempted to drive away, striking multiple police cars.

An officer who had stepped out of his cruiser was pinned between his car and one of the cars that the suspect struck.

The impact broke his leg and he was treated at Harborview.

The man officers were trying to arrest tried to run away but he was caught quickly and taken into custody.

Officers found a gun in the suspect鈥檚 car, on the floorboard of the driver鈥檚 seat.

He was also taken to Harborview to be checked for injuries and is to be booked into the King County Jail after he is cleared from the hospital.

Officers will also request additional charges for the collisions, the assault on the officer, and the gun found in the man鈥檚 car.
