It’s possible a man stuck and killed by a car pulling out of a parking garage on lower Queen Anne was sleeping on the sidewalk Tuesday morning.
“That is absolutely something we’re looking at,” Seattle Detective Patrick Michaud said. “If that is the case it doesn’t change how we investigate it, it just might be a contributing factor…”
The 50-year-old man was hit by a car just off Taylor Street, near Denny Way, around 6:40 a.m. The man was struck as a car exited a parking garage at 100 Taylor Avenue North, several blocks from the Space Needle.
The driver says he heard a noise, which is when he got out of the car, found the man trapped beneath it, and called 911.
Medics declared the man dead at the scene.
A portion of Taylor Avenue North was closed but reopened.
