It was a different kind of Blue Light special at the north Seattle Kmart. An employee called police Monday after finding something unusual in the stock room.

Seattle Police Detective Renee Witt says it was a package filled with 10 pounds of weed. The marijuana was wrapped in garbage bags, packing peanuts, and pages of a Korean newspaper that were soaked in cleaning fluid.

Witt says the package was shipped from Los Angeles and was supposed to go to an address in Philadelphia but never made it. For some reason, the return label listed the Seattle Kmart on Aurora Avenue.

Witt says they’re happy the Kmart employee reported the find.

“That’s an honest employee,” says Witt. “Hopefully we can figure out who sent it and where it was going to.”

Police have placed the pot into evidence and are investigating.
