It looks like the Puget Sound will have its second La Niña in a row this winter.

Aurora borealis streaks through night sky across Washington state

“That’s not uncommon at all,” Nick Bond, , told ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Radio. “In fact, about two-thirds of La Niñas are kind of in back-to-back fashion.”

This means that in Seattle, expect to probably see wetter, cooler temperatures for the next few months, but then things will be a bit drier and warmer January through March.

Climatologists say it’s hard to predict whether Seattle will get a lot of snow in the city this year, but in the mountains, skiers and “winter sports enthusiasts” should have a lot to look forward to, Bond said.

Visiting Washington’s Sno-Parks will cost more this fall, winter

The snow pack also tends to build up more during La Niña winters, which helps the region get through dry summers.
