Update
Officials have dropped murder charges for one of two brothers who went on the run after the deaths of an Arlington couple.
Tony Reed no longer faces charges for murdering 45-year-old Patrick Shunn and his wife, 46-year-old Monique Patenaude in April. After the couple went missing, Tony and his brother John Reed went on the run. Tony turned himself into authorities and assisted in locating the couple’s bodies in May. The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office now believes that Tony only assisted his brother escape the area, and the country, after the murders.
Tony is now charged with rendering criminal assistance.

The parents of two Arlington murder suspects were arrested on Tuesday for helping the brothers hide from Snohomish County detectives.
Clyde Reed, 81, and wife Faye Reed, 77,聽 were taken into custody at their Ellensburg home and will be booked into the Snohomish County Jail. Detectives are planning to search their property.
The Snohomish County Sheriff expects to arrest more people who helped the brothers flee from law enforcement.
鈥淲e absolutely will arrest anyone who has helped a murderer escape justice,鈥 said Sheriff Ty Trenary.
They’re accused of giving their sons, John and Tony, a truck so they could flee the area as law enforcement was chasing them. The brothers were then suspected — now charged — with the murders of married couple Patrick Shunn and Monique Patenaude of Arlington.
Detectives say the parents also admitted to transferring the title from John’s truck to his mother, which was believed to have been used during the murders. They are also accused of giving the brothers money for their escape.
Reed brothers are charged with murder for the execution-style killings聽 of Shunn and Patenaude. Tony Reed turned himself into police at the California/Mexico border. He has since helped detectives locate the bodies of the murdered couple.
John Reed is still on the run and is believed to be in the Tijuana, Rosarita or Ensenada areas of Mexico. Wanted posters for John have been distributed in those regions. There is a $5,000 reward from the US Marshals Service for any information leading to his capture and arrest.
